Cleveland-Cliffs is currently recruiting upcoming college graduates for entry-level Associate Mechanical Engineer positions at our Burns Harbor facility in Burns Harbor, IN.
One of the missions of Cleveland-Cliffs Steel is to utilize the latest technological advances available in the steel industry which affords our engineers countless, unique opportunities to apply the knowledge and skills they learned during their undergraduate studies - from fluids, to power transmission, to heat transfer, to strength of materials, and to any of the other disciplines within mechanical engineering and mechanical engineering technology.
The technologies that are employed today span 50 years, therefore, the range of knowledge required is broad from simple water-based hydraulics through highly sophisticated servo systems.

Responsibilities:
Recommend and/or perform predictive, preventative, and emergency maintenance of equipmentResearch, design, evaluate, install, modernize, re-design, operate, maintain, and repair machinery and equipmentResolve equipment malfunctions, including those requiring scheduled shutdowns or breakdown actionPlan, schedule, and cost control of maintenance/engineering projectsRead and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reportsAnalyze current operating performance and standard operating procedures and making recommendations for improvement and various other duties as needed to support the businessPotentially supervise a crew of hourly maintenance employeesRotating shift work may be required according to business needsOther duties as assignedMinimum
