Foreman Description:
The Forman is a management position that reports directly to the Plant Manager and considered acting Plant Manager in in the event the Plant Manager is indisposed.
Plant Foreman are expected to monitor the day to day activities ensuring the safe and cost effective operation of the PVS manufacturing facility.
This includes all components of Safety, Regulatory Compliance, Maintenance, HR and plant operation.
Primary Responsibilities (May include but not limited to):
Ensure the Safe and environmentally compliant operation the manufacturing facility.
Oversee life critical safety permits and contractors working on site.
Responsible for coordinating emergency response Report all incidents and accidents using Dakota and the Injury Illness Prevention Program.
Function in capacity of Team Leader with responsibility for assigned staff of hourly employees and accountability for operating results of acid regeneration and iron oxide production.
Plan and execute shift activities based upon targets established by management for pick-up of waste pickle liquor, storage and regeneration of hydrochloric acid from customer pickle lines; monitor operations to ensure that processing procedures are followed and that R.

complies with customer chemical specifications; respond to customer delivery requirements working in conjunction with Transportation Unit personnel to achieve pick-up/delivery requirements.
Based upon availability of waste pickle liquor and requisitions for iron oxide, direct assigned crews on the production of iron oxide based upon standard operating procedures and client chemical specifications; review laboratory testing results and prepare and package oxide for storage and/or shipment from the plant to outside transportation carriers.
Maintain operating results and prepare daily reports for management review and record of gallons of waste pickle liquor received, shipped or stored and available and similarly for iron oxide results; generate other routine data for monitoring and ensuring the integrity of quality control, and compliance with customer expectations.
Monitor the performance of assigned staff, including Operating Technicians, Laborers, and Maintenance to assure completion of tasks required on a daily basis to achieve operating goals established including production, housekeeping and continuous quality improvement objectives.
Counsel and otherwise provide direction and support to employees who require assistance in achieving acceptable individual work results; execute disciplinary actions including recommendations for dismissal when warranted as per the collective bargaining agreement in place.
Work closely and collaboratively with Administrative officials in assessing candidates for employment opportunities, completing performance evaluations and in executing other manpower transactions in a professional manner considering E.

Generate a variety of summaries and reports relative to plant activities to keep management informed on shift activities including HCL receives, stored, processed, shipments to customer, quality control initiatives, equipment functioning and similar matters of importance.
Work collaboratively with other company personnel to resolve operative problems and on to address other issues such as capital projects, environmental issues or similar matters.
Interact with customers, vendors, suppliers and other visitors to the plant site in a cooperative and professional manner in order to exchange information and create a favorable company image.
Sign manifests and complete all necessary training to do so, including, but not limited to, RCRA.
Be an Emergency Coordinator for the site and complete all necessary training required for this position.
The Foreman shall uphold the fundamentals of the Nicholson Nine, the Responsible Care Guiding Principles, and all Environmental, Health, Safety and Security requirements.
Perform other similar duties as may be required to conduct supervisory role at plant.
