Hot Strip Mill Manager of Maintenance

Responsibilities: The Hot Strip Mill Maintenance Manager is a Salaried-exempt position. The Manager is responsible for all aspects of the mechanical functioning of the Hot Strip operations both mechanically and electrically. The Manager shall be ultimately responsible for the implementation and adherence of all safety procedures which include but are not limited to, lock-out-tag out, personal protective equipment, fall protection, etc.
The Manager is not only responsible for identifying, planning and implementing the needed Hot Strip Mill repairs but is ultimately the person responsible for the preventative maintenance of the entire shop with the goal of reducing unscheduled delays and increasing productivity.
Oversees and is responsible for ensuring the training of the Union workforce which consists of Journeyman Millwrights and Electricians. The Manager serves as the expert in overseeing all planning, preventative maintenance, scheduled repairs and troubleshooting, required to keep the plant in operations.
The Manager is responsible for all administrative aspects of the position including the adherence to all Company policies and procedures, budgets, cost savings and overseeing the administration of the Union contract with the workforce.
Qualifications:
The Manager must possess extensive education and at least 8 years of experience with the functioning of the equipment and systems in a steel mill environment.
Must have the experience, education and expertise to develop solutions to problems inherent to equipment in the plant (engineer and implement changes to improve performance or eliminate problem).
4 year degree in Engineering or a related discipline and a minimum of 8 years of Managerial experience in a hot strip rolling mill environment.
