Design Technician


Job Description:
GGS Design Technicians are responsible for the technical aspect of a design project, as well as the assembly of the full drawing packages. This role requires the ability to meet project schedules, profitability and customer satisfaction in a system design environment.
Must collaborate with other design members for best possible solutions, as well as, be capable of working in an isolated situation.
This position will be located in our Portage, IN office.
Primary
Responsibilities:
Lead in the design activities required for project delivery excellence
Manage technical and commercial aspects for design of a given project
Work cooperatively with engineering, production and field service staff
Responsible for monitoring project design hours and for monitoring timeliness of design deliverables
Ownership of the Design Package from kick off meeting to post installation as-built state
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Associates degree or equivalent educational background or equivalent practical experience
Three to five years industrial manufacturing experience
Proficient in AutoCAD software
Proven history in applying Design Principles for:
Electrical systems process/packaging equipment layouts
Power distribution systems and equipment
Panel board layouts and schedules
Control schematics
Instrumentation systems (P&ID's and loop diagrams)
PLC/DCS I/O schematics
Power and control hardware panel layouts
Proficient in Microsoft Office products
Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), UL, TUV and other general industrial standards and regulations
Flexibility to perform duties on weekends or holidays in order to fulfill customer commitments, when needed. Duties may require travel and work at industrial plants on occasion.
Desired Skills:
Knowledge of mechanical design principles
General understanding of industrial and/or manufacturing processes
Experience in electrical control panel testing and manufacturing
Expertise in field support for checkout, commissioning, start-up and troubleshooting of industrial electrical, instrumentation and network systems
Experience in on-site documentation of power, controls and instrumentation systems (Field as-built's and red-lines)
High level of attention to detail
Proven record of handling multiple design projects and tasks concurrently

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
